// Ash MorganPartner- ZOO Communications Ash is from the East End of London, and like most people from that region, is a proud football fanatic and West Ham tragic, The playing fields at his school backed onto the Hammers training ground, so I he grew up watching the likes of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Trevor Brooking & Billy Bonds kicking a ball around. Professionally he has been involved in the advertising and marketing industry since 1978. His early working years were spent in newspapers mostly at the London Evening Standard in London. However in the mid 1980’s the lure of Australia proved too much so he packed up and left his beloved Hammers behind. In that time Ash has had spells at The Canberra Times and WIN TV, before joining the merger of City Graphics and Communication Partners in 1999. Ultimately the company evolved into ZOO Communications Canberra’s largest advertising and design agency, and he became a partner in 2003. And he still plays football. On Sunday mornings during the season Ash turns out for the Tuggeranong Old Boys, who play in the Masters competition Division 2, just playing for fun these days. In his own words:Why is it important for our region to have an A-League team? Apart from being the Capital City of Australia, we cover a large regional area of Southern NSW. Canberra is a major sporting centre with fantastic sporting & training facilities (AIS) .We have a great venue in Canberra stadium, (compare that to Wollongong’s WIN Stadium). We also have I think it’s around 50,000 participating players in Canberra, and it’s growing. So you have to believe we can drum up enough support How have you or your organisation helped to progress the bid? My business partner Pawl Cubbin has pledged his support to the bid with a substantial personal investment. As a member of the A-League Committee, my colleagues and I have offered marketing advise and support. ZOO branded the A-league bid website, as well as producing other collaterals, posters, press ads, certificates., etc. We also produced a 30 second TVC in conjunction with Silversun Pictures. |
